in the FAQ thread, theres a part bout this. its the steering stops most likely. they had caps that come off. theres a way to fix it. its a sticky at the top.

 

The permanent fix is buying a crap load of the nylon bushings for it and replace whenever they wear out. Or just spray a shot with a shot of lube.

 

If you keep having to replace them, how is that a permanent fix? There is no permanent fix for this problem. All the trucks have it, put some all purpose grease on them when you change your oil. Or if you go it lots of water, do it more often.

 

Can anyone take a pic of what this is, I'd like to lube the crap out of it. Would high velocity grease work? Big glob of Moly Lube? I just need to know where i'd be lubing this part for steering.

 

You will have to replace them again. They don't last long!

 

I found that putting the black silicone sealant on all 8 spots makes it quiet down a lot. Did not make it go away but it's far less freakish sounding now.

 

Trust me. A good coat of all purpose grease and they won't make a peep for months.

^:lol: Ha, ya I know, lol. There's probably bits missing all over I'm better off not knowing about. :lol: I guess I need to stop mud sliding into/running over large bushes.

But ya, the little boot that holds the grease is totall gone. The other side, the boot is fine, and there's no grease fitting poking out the top, the plastic cap is on there and I can not get it off for the life of me. Any advice, anbody?

 

uhmm,.... clean the surfaces that contact, get that blue gasket maker stuff and make a nice bump stop thing?

Is the thing I put in the picture the "bump stop"? I thought it was the tie-rod end.
