I thought it mean high definition display (HDD) not hard drive. I believe it has an HD but it probably It enclosed in the system.

OK, I think it really is Hard Disk Drive. This is cut & pasted from a Toyota.com blurb about the Land Cruiser (bold added by me):

"For the 2013 model year, Land Cruiser receives exterior and interior styling enhancements. Additionally, Land Cruiser will now come with all features as standard equipment, including new driving performance features, and an array of significant safety and convenience features. I will check TIS but if I am not mistaken (which I usually am) its integrated into the head unit assembly. It may be possible to service it and it may not.

 

I was at the dealer today and asked. The service writer (not a tech) said it was under the head unit; attached to it but not part of it. He gave me the impression that it was mounted on the head unit.

It seems that my guess of "somewhere behind the dashboard" is pretty much correct.
