where is the engine coolant drain plug ?

Hello guys,

I want to do a complete coolant flush , but for the life of me, i can not find it. I had searched and saw some pictures, but i was down there looking for it several times now and am still can't find the engine drain plug. The FSM is poorly show it location. It said there is a total of 10.5 qts. on the system. My truck is a 96 v6 3.4l sr5. Does any one know where it is ?. Thanks in advance.

It's small, passenger side forward of the motor mount. Loosen bolt and water will drain out of the 1/4" nipple.

I think i found it. My has a 1/4 " hole and a 14 mm bolt head. it was at the base of motor mount bracket and few inches behind the AC compressor unit like you said. I took some pictures to show everybody where it is located.

Did you go ahead a drain it yet? I was wondering if it was worth the trouble?

No, i have not. I do not have time to do it today. I was wondering the same thing.
Now that i see where is it, i can loose that drain plug easy, there is plenty of room to turn the socket. my only concern is the drain plug proably rusted weld on there or it will develop a leak when i put it back.

where is the engine coolant drain plug ?
