I have seen the black, ash, and almond interiors this past weekend while I was test driving the 2014 Limiteds...I started off wanting the almond, sat in the black for a while and was impressed, but then got tired of the all black interior....currently have ash in my 2011 Limited btw, nice neutral color, but decided this time if I get a new one I will change it up....so now I have come full circle, for now ha ha, and am liking the almond again...I think my eyes prefer the contrast of the dark and light areas on the inerior better, less monotonous to my thinking, at least for now....

My doesn't say leather anywhere either but since it looks like leather, feels like leather and smells like leather, I'm going to call it leather!

Funny about them not being sure about what to call the color! I'm going with Light Gray since that's what my MSRP says. Regardless, I love it.

The Interior color is definitely a mystery. I have the exact same color interior that you do, but mine is not called light gray, but simply a number (LB10)

PREDAWN GRAY MICA/LB10

Under "Interior" it does state that the car has "Leather Heated Front Seats", so I'm pretty sure its not the SofTex. One of the Highlander LE-Plus models I saw at the dealership specifically called out the SofTex seating surfaces.

Interesting.....

Almond is not bad, but to me it feels like its for old people. No offense. I have kids and they would destroy the interior. I prefer black interior and the 2014 HL leather is great!
wish they came out with Rioja Red. Love this color!!

When I pull the trigger - it will have to be 'black' leather interior for me..... looks more upscale. I am more into cozy dark cabins, with hilights of chrome, and other textures and materials....

For some reason the [too] light gray reminds me of an entry level car interior, and the 'almond' - which is a nice word for yellow / beige.... is grotesque to me.

One thing I like about my Equinox interior (about the only thing) is the black/brown tone-on-tone..... rich looking combo. Wish there was one like this available for the HL.

But as a designer, I completely understand individual preference - it would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing.

Ronn - I think the Creme Brulee looks really nice... especially with the silver tone to it.... I'd like to see it in person.

It is funny how certain experiences can sour you to a 'color'..... I had a 1998 Chevy Venture mini-van, and it was the popular 'beige metallic' of that era.... it was the biggest crapbox I ever owned... I got so I hated that vehicle: Found out after it blew a head gasket before 90K that the engine was made in China.... so much for American Made, eh? lol..... anyway, after it blew it's 2nd head gasket, I got rid of it... and for some reason I now associate 'BEIGE' cars with that mini-van and it makes me shudder from stem to stern everytime I see a beige vehicle.... hahaha.... maybe I need therapy to get over that.

But the Creme Brulee is interesting.... I'd have to see it in person, and actually - after re-looking at your photos - the almond interior looks much nicer than I imagined.... it isn't that icky greenish yellow interior that GM used to have.... it's much softer and even kind of upscale looking.

Come to think of it... I am seeing a pattern here: GM cars seem to give me the Willy's ... I should stay away from them.
