You should use the T-IV type tranny fluid and I would suggest getting it from your local $tealership.

 

You don't recommend anything else? Not Mobile one or Royal purple or something like that?

 

Amsoil Universal is compatible with Type IV.

i have thought the same about using mobil1 but toyota states use type IV and its supposed to be good, donno if its a synthetic blend or not but stick with the toyota fluid it wont do harm we dont know if the synthetic can be too thin for the transmission?

 

Mobil1 is NOT speced for T-IV. Amsoil is speced and is a good syn replacement.

 

i happened to go to the toyota dealer yesterday and the dealer is selling Royal purple synthetic oil, makes me wonder if this stuff is real good.
