I haven't sat in the back while the car was being driven, but from the front seat, the road noise is excellent... hardly any wind noise at all, and just a bit of tire noise from the 20s. How's yours from the front?

 

I've had several people in back and they say the gh was very quiet. I know from our front seats, it sure is.

 

compared to what? its as quiet if not quieter than my '18 outback was, which IMO was a quiet car. do you have the roof rails installed? i noticed removing those quieted the ride down as did changing the PSI in the tires.

 

Coming from a 5th gen 4runner, the second and third row in the GH is much noisier.

 

My 3rd gen 4runner is super silent, they used plenty thick under carpet padding/silencing material, that is skipped or skimped out with cheaper/thinner materials these days, what a shame the prices don't reflect it....

 

I've personally sat in the 3rd row for a two hour trip. Just as quiet, in my opinion, as any vehicle I've sat in including our 2020 highlander. The engine itself is louder on acceleration due to the 4 cylinder

How do you feel the front seats are in the road noise department?

 

front seats aren’t bad. But my concern is the second and third row.

 

I haven’t sat in the way-back yet but road noise in the front is acceptable.

 

I have a 2024 Grand Highlander Limited Hybrid AWD... Not Platinum....Not Hybrid Max....There is a pronounced wind rustle inside the car, on the passenger side front, from 38 mph and up. I checked the door seals, they are fine. The outside air intake for the interior HVAC is on the passenger side, located outside the car at the base of the windshield. It actually sounds like hi-fan speed air conditioning pushing against a closed interior a/c dashboard vent, but the vent is open. Of course, once you hear the noise, you can't "unhear" it. Since I had a 2017 Highlander Hybrid Limited, and a 2020 Highlander Hybrid Platinum, I am used to hearing the wooshes and buzzes of electric parking brakes, engine cooling fans, etc.

Is anyone else having this problem? I don't want the Dealer to start tearing apart my dashboard and doors if all Grands have this wind rustle. Maybe it's because the Grand Highlander has the aerodynamic properties of a refrigerator ??

 

Interesting... crossbars can produce a wind noise if you're equipped with them.. just shooting out ideas

 

I also have the standard hybrid limited and I haven’t noticed the noise.
And yes the crossbars might be a culprit if you have them.

 

Thanks for your replies. I do not have cross bars or any kind of rack. Perhaps it's Poltergeists just trying to drive me crazy ??

 

You don't have any of the cooled seats up full blast, do you? I find those can be just as loud as the AC or wind noise when no one is sitting in that seat.
