Howdy guys. On Monday (5 days ago) I purchased an 05 Highlander Base and am loving it so far. However I have had a problem come up that has got me very concerned and frustrated. We had a
warm day today in the Midwest, so I decided to go to the local Kwik Trip to get a car wash. As the car was about halfway through the wash, the check engine, VSC, and trac off (traction light) all came on. Originally I thought it was just because it went through a car wash, but about 12 hours later the 3 lights are still on. It is frustrating since none of these lights were on before the car wash started. I also have to renew my plates next week, and for that I have to pass emissions (this car had already passed emissions in October, but I transferred the plates on my previous car, which had emissions coming up).
I don't know much about cars but when this was happening I was with my friend who is fairly knowledgeable about cars, and he suggested that maybe water got into the sensors, which makes sense. However I don't know where to go from here so I want to know if anyone has any advice on how to correct this problem. Thank you.
