windshield reflections

Has anyone had an issue with lights reflecting through the windshield and looking like doubles?

On my new 05 PreRunner, bright street lights, some brake lights, and headlights have a doubled image through the windshield with the double appearing above the light source.

I've cleaned both inside and outside with the following cleaners: water, regular (non-ammonia) glass cleaner, rubbing alcohol, and vinegar. None have made any difference.

Anyone have this problem and/or ideas about it?
-thanks

do what i did and tint the windshield. not just the upper part, but the WHOLE thing. do it the lightest tint they have. you dont even notice its tinted unless someone points it out, and it helps a LOT. also makes the truck look a lot cleaner
I am curious what do you do about it when you need inspected. When they scrape off the stickers doesnt that destroy your tint or do you do the tint around the stickers

inspected? in CA you dont have to have your vehicle checked out every year. we have to have to get a smog check (sniffer and visual) every other year. but the visual only includes the guy looking to make sure the engine has all of its original smog equipment, and all aftermarket parts have a CARB number. (i'd MUCH wrather do the inspection though... these smog nazi's are rediculas!)

but yeah, no sticker for the windshield, or light check, no brake check, ect... you do run the risk of getting poped by the cops, but like i said, its not that noticeable unless you are looking for it.

if you want, i can try to get some pics tomorrow

Called dealer after Thanksgiving. They said someone else was there recently for the same thing. They say all the tacomas on their lot do this and they think toyota put some kind of glare treatment in the windshield so they can't do anything. Called the Toyota 800 number and they said there is "...no counter-measure at this time..." but to keep in touch with the dealer since they are updated weekly concerning maintenence issues/info. At least with the junk I had before (chevy colorado) the dealer would fix things that didn't seem right.

Anyhow, if anyone else notices bright lights refracting through the windshield at night creating doubles or halos, let your dealer know so they can record it.
