So I posted on here a month or so ago that I was got a chip in my 2018 Highlander windsheild and was having it replaced with an OEM. I waited until we got to a week without rain in the forecast and had it replaced today. I had made it a point to confirm with the glass company that my insurance contracts with that I would not need it calibrated. They said I would not need calibration because it is OEM. I start up my Highlander to come home from work and guess what? Yep, you guessed it. I see warning lights start flashing: "LANE DEPARTURE ALERT MALFUNCTION VISIT YOUR DEALER" and "PRE-COLLISON SYSTEM MALFUNCTION SEE YOUR DEALER" and "HEADLIGHT SYSTEM MALFUNCTION SEE YOUR DEALER".
I will have to contact the glass company and see what steps I need to take to take it into the dealership for calibration and have insurance pay for it. I get to look at flashing warning lights until then. The strange thing is that I can not manually leave my headlights on the bright setting. I can hold the lever and engage the brights but as soon as I let go, it reverts back from bright to normal.
I was told by the glass company "oh this will be an easy job. Highlanders are one of the most popular cars on the road and we replace a lot of Highlander windshields." Why can't anything just go as planned??? UGHHH:frown:
