Any one have trouble with their XM Radio? On three occasions, the XM radio has messed up. It is like someone is taking the volume and turning it all the way down and then back up to selected volume. This happens continuously, in about 1 second intervals. I shut it off and made no difference. The next day, it worked fine. This has happened three times. One day it just did not work at all. Now it is working fine. I called XM, and they reset it but told me it is likely the radio. Right now it is working again. We are on a free trial until July. Anyone experience this? 2012 Limited with NAV, 1000 miles on the odometer.

All other inputs work perfectly. It is only the XM that is affected. When this happens, it happens for hours or even all day. It first happened while I was driving it, and I had the vehicle for an hour or so. The next day it worked fine. Then it happened again, about 2-3 days later. The next day it was fine. Now, two days ago it did it again then stopped working all together, and today it is fine. No other inputs are affected. I had XM send a new signal, we will see what happens.

I don't use the satellite radio on mine, but I could have sworn remembering reading somewhere that when the satellite tuner looses a good signal, it will lower the volume to cover up static/distortion. The antenna hooked up snugly to the unit itself (its under the driver seat)? Do you notice this happening in the same locations, under trees/near buildings, etc?

Thanks for the reply sweeneyp, I will check the connection under the seat. That is good information. As far as the when it happens, there is no difference. Where I live is wide open for a signal. When it happens, it happens for hours, in all locations. Usually the next day before it works again.

we have a 2012 with Nav ans our XM has never done that. We pretty regularly lose signal in heavy trees and in hilly areas. It just goes silent and says lost connection or some such on the screen.
