I have an engine rattle on my Camry that annoys me like crazy. I have searched and read all the related threads that are similar to mine as old as they may be.
It only rattles loud enough for me to hear and be annoyed at 1400-1600 rpm, and especially when going slightly uphill, at light throttle inputs, with low engine load.
I have recently (within the last 6 months) replaced the water pump, alternator, belt, belt tensioner (twice because I believe this could be my issue), timing chain tensioner, VVT solenoid (due to leak), VVT oil passage filter, valve cover gasket, spark plugs, pcv (valve and hoses), front struts, and control arms.
The motor has 180,000 miles on it, and other than the rattle sound the motor runs and revs smoothly.
I will figure out how to attach a video I just took of me putting the car in drive with the ebrake on and holding the phone over the motor so y’all can hear what I am talking about.
Thank you for any feedback.
