how much would you pay for a 2005 camry xle?
it has 90k miles on it. its a private party sale. it has JBL 3-In-1 Premium Stereo, Navigation System, Alloy Wheels, Moonroof, Power Windows, Power Seats. Owner said he did regular oil changes.
I checked the CARFAX. comes out clean, no accidents.

I am not a car expert. But he dont seem to have done any 90k mile maintainence. I would have to do timing belt etc.. Maybe battery i dont know.

He did say you are gonna need new tires. And agrees he did not put on a new timing belt.

Hes the second owner... hes asking $12000. Isn't that too much for 6 yr old car?

thanks,
xpac

Before i answer...is it a V6 or an I4?

I agree the price is way too high. But still need to know what engine before i give my advice and opinion.

Ok the waterpump/timing belt needs to be done. Spark plugs, valve cover gasket, crush washers etc need to be done in 10k, i'd do the accessory belt as well.

So those are if you go to the dealer, probably 1500-2000$ in maintenance bills.

Plus tires, brakes etc, IF they need to be done or haven't been done. Struts should be fine, you can do a visual to see if they are leaking, or have your trusted mechanic or Toyota dealer to do a once over.

But the two things i mentioned above will need to be done.

I'd say 9 is the very very top number. I personally wouldn't pay more than 7 to 7500.

But i can't see the car in person, condition etc. But 12 is way too high. You can get an 07 or 08 for that. (not that i would recommend it) This generation you are looking at is one of the best, if not the best.

I have an 02 and it has just over 135k miles. And it is running like a tank, very strong, i consider it "just broken in" I also abuse it on the track once or twice a year. But it is my baby and i baby it when not on track.
