If left stock no it cannot (I wanted to do this too). Apparently you have to go and mess with the wiring somehow to do it, i'd also be curious to know how!

Just need to locate fog light relay and jump it with the signal from parking light. Already did that to the Supra (I know 2 cars are different, but should work the same way). Will do it to the Camry/Sienna someday (when I have time and wiring diagram.)

One thing you can do is link the power cables from the fog lights to the rdl/high beam lights, sounds tricky but its not.
1.Cut and join the 2 fog lights power wire only.
2.Make 2 attachments from the fog lights power wire.
3.Link one wire to the drl of the high beam and the other to the regular headlights.
So in that way when the drl's are on the fog lights will be on, and when the headlights are on the fog lights will still be on, that's what i think, because at no time will the drl and the headlights be on at the same time which means no blown fuse and wires will be crossed.

wait what?

you have a TOYOTA CAMRY 2012 SE and your fog lights + headlights do NOT automatically turn on ?

did you put a HID kit onto your fog lights or switch out the bulbs or something?

trying to understand, what you are asking for

He's trying to make the fog lights come on without the headlights. See my picture before your post...it has a few advantages. One, you can simply use your fog lights independently of your headlights. Two, you can turn your high beams on and not have your fog lights turn off, effectively giving you more light. Three, it's a cheap and easy mod that can be done safely and easily if done right.

The down side is that no one has done it for the 2012 yet. You will either have to play around with a diagram to figure it out, or wait until someone does...

I'm looking for a '12 Camry wiring diagram right now. If anyone has found one, let me know, I'll crack the case and get fogs working without headlights.

I did it in my Tundra, can't be that hard in the Camry.

I have a factory manual and looked extensively at the wiring diagram for factory fogs. All of the lights are controlled by the ECU. All the switches on the stalk do (all of them) is ground a wire coming out of the ECU, which then decides whether to send a signal to the integration relay and/or the headlight relay in the fusebox in the engine compartment. To bypass this, you would need to know what kind of signal the ecu sends to the integration relay. Its probably 12V+ but it could be anything. There is more than 1 wire going to the relay from the ECU if you have factory fogs.

If you don't have factory fogs, none of these wires are in the harness. I know, I opened up the fusebox/junction box and looked.

If installing after market (and yes the ones Toyota sells are aftermarket), then you can rig it any way you want since these use a different system to control the fog lights.

It's wired that way to stop people just driving around with fog lights only and to stop people from driving with fog lights and high beams on at the same time. May look cool to have fog lights only on or multiple lights sources on at the same time but it's very dangerous for oncoming traffic, hence illegal.

Depends where you live. Indiana you can have fog only, BUT when fogs are on tail lights and side markers MUST be on!! Other states like that too.

BTW-That 4-light does NOT apply to separate DRL (basically LEDs) if their lens has DRL embossed in it. Then it is a marker light.

And, Indiana law (probably others) specifically says that "...fog lights may be on when low beams are on." Now, think about it. The 4-light thing (if so) has to do with brights. If you don't have your brights on because of oncoming traffic, what is the difference if they ARE on with the bright.

Suggestion: read ALL of the motor vehicle laws; not just sections. The weird thing I found here is we are allowed one "auxiliary driving light" on and "one auxiliary passing light. HUH? My argument would then be that one fog is aux driving and one is aux passing.
There are all kinds of stupid laws still on the books.

I agree that driving around with your high beams on can get you a ticket, but I think you may be wrong about having multiple light sources. It probably varies from state to state, but I don't think there are restrictions for how many lights you can have as long as they are aimed properly?

I use my Camry for offroad use only:

You are going to need a relay to rewire the lights. You can tap off the gray wire next to the battery for your switched source. If there is interest I can make a tutorial on it. Basically you are rewiring the lights.

And there is no reason to take apart the dash to pop out the knock out for a auxiliary switch if you wanted to go that route. A small flat head screw driver will work fine.

For sure. And, where I live I'd LOVE to go to everyone that doesn't use turn signals and give them a $1, and tell them to but signals next time they have the car serviced. I'd be broke!! Cops don't do squat. Too busy hanging out at Speedway station LOL.
I am not sure THEY even know the laws as much as we do. I found one state trooper that didn't know if you have your wipers on for weather you must have your headlights on.

That's state law here too and I've seen cops driving without lights in the rain a few times.

It would be nice if the Camry's lights came on with the wipers when in auto mode.

I just wish the "Auto" mode was the last spot on the headlight stalk. I hate when i use my parking lights and i have to get past the Auto before i get to the parking lights. I dont even use the auto function.

I can turn on my lights by myself.. just like people have been doing for decades.
