2012 Toyota Camry "L" Any way to prevent trunk from being opened by inside lever?

Most of the sedans I've owned in the last 25 years had a way to prevent the trunk from being unlocked from the inside without the non-Valet key. Sometimes it would be by turning the trunk lock in a particular way, or there might be a way to disconnect the passenger compartment lever with the non Valet key.

On this base model Camry however, it seems the trunk will always unlock with the hand lever, and the valet key is only for keeping the glove box locked. Is this right?

I've had a 2012 XLE new since Mar 2012 and was surprised at this unlockable design as well.
No real security to put stuff in the trunk if all's needed is a "brick in a towel smash n grab"
through the front drivers side window then pop the trunk ... yeah the alarm sounds when the
trunk opens but amazing how much can be taken in 10 seconds much less minutes before
authorities might arrive.

Our older 94 and 04 US made sedans always had a button to a relay opening the trunk hidden
behind a lockable glove box. That was one of the few highpoints of those cars that died
for different reasons much earlier than they should have, but why Toyota did not make some
type of 2nd lock over the trunk release in at least an XLE is beyond me.

I to was not happy when I realized that it didn't lock. Didn't even think to look when I bought it, because EVERY car I've ever owned since the 1990's had a key lock of some sort. Like RochHam said, all they need to do is break the window and they have access. I'm sure a lot of car robbers know this.
