Can't set the digital clock ?

I have changed the setting on the center digital clock before but now when I go to press the little "min" or "hour" buttons nothing happens.

I double checked and the owners manual describes setting the clock by turning the key to the ACC or ON position, and then pressing the buttons.

The clock is working fine, normal brightness, battery full charged - I just can't change the time that is displayed.

Anyone know what is going on?

Just for the record, I think if one pulls the dome fuse the clock will reset to 1:00. I'm sure the neighbor's are already wondering about the old man who seems to always have to be doing something to the old car at odd hours anyway. Now to see me standing out there at 12:59 am, in my pajamas with the hood up, a flashlight shining on my watch and then pulling fuses may put them over the top.

Mine kinda does that.

I have to press the hour and minute hand pretty hard.
Sometimes nothing happens and I have to jab at the buttons.
I got a feeling that the contacts might be getting some crud on them from the air blowing in from the outside, and since there is no cabin air filter I wouldn't be at all surprised if that's the problem.

See if you can get a dowel or something that can get a direct push on the knob and see if that does any good. If not, you might have to remove the dash to get access to the clock. Not a big deal, a couple of screws. But I've never removed the clock so I don't know what's involved to do that.

Once you get it out and taken apart some electrical contact spray might do the trick.

Let us know what you end up doing.

Good luck.
