I sit at my back center seat of my 08 SE with leather, and found the rear center seat is not confortable at all. It is too hard and to high on my back. You don't want to sit there for more than 20 min.

So what's new?

Before the Camry, I have the 98 Volvo S70. I found the driver seat in my old Volvo were more confortable. The rear center seat, which has same usage as the Camry, was way more comfortable.

...even worse, one reason I picked the Camry is for the fact that the back seat is "almost" flat (have 3 kids to place their some times). Look into Caddy, Audi, MB, Lexus, Infinity and all other larger, comfy sedans and you see that the backseats are even more formed out with the middle more like a jump seat but mainly the armrest. Only Charger/300C's are better (not SRT8 though), but I did not want to buy these. If you need permanent room for 3 in the back...got to buy something different.

+1. and if people complain, tell them to get out and start walking.

In some occassions, you may have some friends/relative (not kids) to fill the car. And you want them to sit confortablely. I hope the next gen Camry can imporve that. So be it for my 08 SE.

Very few cars (excluding larger vehicles) have a 'comfortable' rear center seat. I guess you could do a flat bench, but then all 3 positions would suffer.

As for the Volvo, My S80 T6 wasn't much better (in the center). Granted, the seats overall were more comfortable, but it also carried a sticker that was nearly double that of my Camry and is in another class of vehicle.
