Changing oil pan gasket, what about the reinforcement section?

I need to replace the oil pan gasket badly on our 96 Corolla 7A-FE. Is there a gasket between the aluminum reinforcement section and the engine block, or is it just a bead of RTV? I haven't found any gasket for that area on any parts websites.

And speaking of RTV, any particular type most people like to use? I've always used Permatex Ultra Grey on my Integra as it's pretty much the same as Hondabond sealant. I could use that unless another kind would be better. Suggestions?

Both are JUST sealer? I'm pretty sure the lower pan has an actual gasket, seen it for sale...

I'm glad this was posted actually because I was going to do this same thing and had this same exact question.

soooo I just ordered this Victor Reinz oil pan gasket from AutoZone. I didn't like the idea of the cork Felpro gasket so I got this one. Are you saying I shouldn't use it?

Car is leaking oil around the oil pan area like crazy so I'm hoping this gasket will help cure that problem.

you can use it, but it comes sealed with gray sealant from the factory. you might pull the pan and find out its got a gasket and thats leaking. the gray leaks rarely, but I have resealed a couple 5S-FE oil pans.
