Hi. Have a 08' highlander hybrid with 170k miles.
Up to about a month ago, it'd had been good to me
That is bc I just spent almost 4k$ on the break actuator replacement.
A couple of days ago I got the "check tire pressure system. Have the vehicle checked by a dealer" message.
I did not replace tires and all tires are inflated properly.
I know only diagnostic isn't an exact science, but has anyone else had a stimulate experience, and if s so, what was the fix?
I really don't want to spend a bunch more money in it.
Of course the isn't a great time to by anything either, so....

anyway, any help would be greatly appreciate.

Are you checking the tire pressure with a quality gauge when the tires are cold? Many TPMS systems are very precise, and sometimes the pencil-type pressure gauges aren't accurate enough.

I actually have three different kinds of pressure guages, all read normal

 

TPMS batteries died. It's about time. They last around ten years. Go to Discount Tire, they have the best price.

I was actually planning on replacing tires before the winter. Would a tire place be able to tell if that's the difference, or world I have to have the dealer diognose that?

 

As I said - Discount Tire. They have hand held scanners that connect to TPMS and check/pair them. No need to replace tires because of sensors, those are maintenance items. But surely, tires do nothing but get more expensive....

 

Ty. The tires are something I need before winter regardless of the sensors, so figured I'd get them both at once.
