Cleaning dried egg from radiator

Yep. You read it right. I've got dried egg in my radiator - not inside, on the outside. Lovely city I live in.

Anyway, does anyone know of a cleaner/chemical I can soak it in that might dissolve it enough to hose it off?

Three recommendations for you then. First, wet the egg area with warm water, not hot and not cold, but warm. Reason is eggs being protein-based, hot water will "cook" the egg and make it harder to remove, and cold water will coagulate it. Let that set a while and be thoroughly soaked, then rinse/hose more aggressively. If you need to go to the level of using a cleaner or chemical to remove the egg, then use something that is alkaline and not acidic, because again you're dealing with protein and alkaline-based agents will be the most effective.

Thanks, TrailDust.

I did a little Googling myself last night and found the same advice. Unfortunately, by the time I discovered the the gift that keeps on giving, so to speak, the egg was well cooked from driving around.

It's actually not on my Avalon, which is garaged, but on another vehicle that sits outside in the street. This isn't the first time, either. This is just the first time they hit the front and it got into the radiator.

F***ing miscreants.

Gotcha. I know where you're coming from on that. In my town about 20 years ago it became all the rage for kids to egg cars just about everywhere, so I became well versed at how to get the crud off. I feel sorry for you man, because eggs can cause a lot of damage, even the shells chipping paint.
