Concern regarding 8-speed transmssion in 2020 Camrys

I see that some 2018-2019 Camry's with the 8-speed had issues, relating to whining, and then this problem appears again (per a TSB) for the 2021 model year. I'm wondering if the 2020 year is also affected (can't find any TSBs for 2020, only the 2021 year) as mine is getting close to the end of the powertrain warranty and am wondering if I should be concerned as I've heard around 60k is when it can start to happen. I haven't found a video yet demonstrating the sound from a Camry specifically, although there are some on Youtube with the Sienna that exhibit transmission whine which may be what some people are referring to.

In my case, I'm starting to hear what I feel is perhaps a bit of whining but it's only right before it is shifting up from 1st to 2nd and maybe 2nd to third and usually at higher RPMs (like 2000-2500 RPMs). I'd almost describe this as "shift whine" because of when I hear it. I don't hear it while driving /cruising along and not really while down/up shifting (say varing my speed on the highway, I don't really hear it then, only during acceleration from a stop most.

So I'm wondering two things here really:
Is this a known problem for the 2020's, or have most people not had issues? I'm also kind of curious if others with Camry's in the 2018-2021 range have for mileage thus far and if you've had any transmission repairs done in relation to whining or other odd transmission noises.

Second question is if I was to get an extended warranty to cover the transmission, what companies would people recommend (based on experience, not just reviews)?

You need to start maintaining it, instead of waiting for it to fail.

I was watching one of the Car Care Nut videos today and in this particular video (linked below) he mentions the 8-speed transmission issues and says mostly it relates to the Highlander, but also some of the Camry's (he feels from 2020-2021). Mine has started to make what I feel is the whining noise he describes, and he mentions a TSB (he said Toyota says it's only applicable to the 2021 Camry).

Does anyone have this TSB. Below is a link to the video with the time stamp (10:26) where he mentions the transmission. On a side note, Iam due to have the transmissin fluid changed in the next 2 weeks and thankfully this noise has only been around for maybe 2-3 months that I can recall but it's approaching 60k, which he mentions in the segment too where this issue can start to show up.

At my last oil change visit, they showed me under the car and there is no signs of leakage, and I've verified that it's not an air intake issue (as I know that can sometimes cause a whining toise too if one of the intake tubes is off or of there is an issue there. Plus I don't get the whining noise when the car is parked if I rev the engine, only while driving.
Yeah I checked that and didn't find any, and it appears all recalls have been done on my car. I am going to take it into the dealer this week (probably get a fluid change first, and then see if the sound is still prevent and then address it with the dealer).

Do you know if this is a wide-spread problem on the 2020's? My recent search seems to suggest only 2018-2019 as was pointed out in the video but he also said 2020-2021 seem to be affected as well.

That's what I'm going to do but mine is near the end of its warranty so I'm just trying to make sure that it's not possibly in the earlier stages of this issue. I am going to have the fluid exchanged this weekend so we'll see. For all I know, the fluid may just need to be changed and whatever issues I'm concerned with may go away (it still has the original fluid but it's also only at 60k).

The conventional (non-hybrid) one. Starting to think this may be one reason why Toyota has gone all hybrid on many vehicles. to put the 8-speed transmission to rest so to speak. In some respects it kind of sounds like a repeat of the 2009-2010 oil burning/piston ring issue all over again, but with transmissions.

The gas model 4 cylinder 8th generation Camry and the similar gas model 5th generation RAV4 use the UB 80 automatic transmission. I have NOT found ANY reports of actual failures, total break downs, and destruction of any UB 80 trans in this forum, or in the RAV4World forum. There are only a very few spurious posts about "whining" and these are questionable. I can't hear it on videos. The people reporting "whining" have never replaced their transmission fluid and the cars may have high miles. In contrast the different UA 80 trans which has different pinion gears in the final drive does have failures. That defective trans is for high torque V6 engines and is used in the Highlanders, Siennas, V6 Camry and some big Lexus. That UA 80 has class action lawsuits, many TSBs and Toyota issued a Customer Support Program to try to fix it. Our 8th gen Camry and 5th gen RAV trans-the UB 80- has only an early TSB for a software reprogramming to correct shift issues. There are no recalls, lawsuits or anything else. The UB 80 8 speed auto trans is OK.
