Constant Hot Fuse Location

I recently bought a 2015 Highlander, my first Toyota in nearly 30 years and I have added some items to it. One of the items is a dual-view dash cam. I have all the wiring already run in the headliner and behind the A-Pillar down to the fuse block. Originally I was going to ask how was the best way to tap a fuse, but I found a post on here already that shows the great fuse tap option for these mini-fuses (Some Information I found) using a Cooper Bussmann Fuse Adapater (part # BP-HHH-RP or 8553414). I'm going to be picking this up tomorrow, as I much prefer to tap a fuse than tap a wire directly.

Which brings me to my question, in the fuse block under the dash, which fuse is one that has a constant flow of power through it. I need to have power to my camera all the time. It has a parking feature that will turn the camera on and record if it detects movement and such. The hard-wire kit has a battery protector shut-off that will prevent it from draining the battery, so I need a constant hot. Once, I finish this install tomorrow, I will be posting photo's, just wished it had not rained or I would have taken photos and video of the installation, including the removal and installation of the A-Pillar cover.

Thanks in advance.

I cant remember at the moment, but if you're doing such an install, its always nice to have a volt meter handy, and with car off and key out, you can tap them to see what springs up.

LOL, I don't have one handy at this time, most of my tools have been lost of stolen over the years. But I did find a nice page last night that gives a very nice (larger) view of the fuse-box and which each fuse is. I am most likely going to tap off the power seat fuse, as the seat moves without the car being on and so it should be a hot fuse. Will post back later today after I give it a shot. Thanks

When you find the fuse locations please share! I too have a dashcam with parking mode and have it set up to the Hazards for constant and Power Outlet No.1 for accessory power... it still thinks it's powered on though.

From my memory, I recall on the 2018 LE Plus I did a remote start on, you can use OBD2 fuse which should be always be hot but i'll recommend metering it as I do not own the car nor can I get to metering it within a reasonable amount of time. Most if not all the others fuses rely on the key in the ignition.

I have found a couple of the fuses. But another issue came up, so this part of my project is on held for the moment. Will keep everyone posted on future updates, which may include a photo(s), etc. Thanks

I have found several of them, I believe they were ones for the power seats and such. But the purpose I was looking to use them for, a dash cam, has been put on hold as the power unit is fried (it seems) as it will not power up the camera at all. That is why I have not finished out this thread and I just have not had time to replace the power unit, which I have a new one. But they were easy to locate using a test light and they all ranged in various fuse sizes.

I finally go around to wiring up my blackvue dual camera today. I checked the fuses and found the fuses toward the rear were hot all the time. I ended up using the OBD fuse for the battery wire and the power outlet 2 for the accessory wire. The biggest issue was trying to figure out how to get the rear camera to work with the pop out glass option. I ended up measuring out how much cable needed to open the glass and placed the excess in between where the glass meets the back door frame. This allows both the back door and the glass to open properly without having extra cable hanging in the way. There doesn't seem to be any damage from compressing the cables but I will keep an eye on them.

Do you have the Blackvue hooked up for parking mode as well? I'm going to give this a shot in the morning.

This is what I did for the rear camera on our Kluger. Instead of mounting to the glass I mounted to the top panel of the lift gate.
