Hello all, I recently got an OTOCAM3 on E Bay, how hard are they to install in a 2012 TCH, is it a plug and play install? I know some others have done it, any one care to let me know what is involved? I have a few questions like; Is it just a plug and play without much wire splicing? Where do I mount the GPS antenna? Should I splice the backup camera to the reverse light circuit or to the otocam3 itself? And what is all the talk about the parking brake ground and playing DVD's? Thanks!

Yes I already saw that video of Walt's elbow with him talking about it, but it's not much help as all you can see is his elbow for most of the video but thanks for that anyway. From what I saw there is no video about hooking up and installing the otocam3 after the stock radio is removed. My main question is after you remove the stock radio is how much installation is needed? Is it just plug in the wires from the old radio and turn it on and bingo! Or is there a lot of cutting and splicing required to hook it up, and if so what all needs to be cut and splice? Thanks. D.F.

hi
i installed an otocam3 in my 2012 se plug and play all the way you dont have to cut any wires just match up the plugs with the toyota factory radio plugs.
you have to really work with the bracket that it come with the otocam3 is a little bit bigger in the back of the radio so it pushes out very very little but looks factory once in .
as for the back up camera once you hook up the cameras power wires to the car back up lights
of the car and plug in the video wire it to camera wire on the otocam3 once you put the car in (r)
it pop right up and you see the backup view .
i got my otocam3 from walt great help with the tect support and i put in the advent oe backup camera to everything look factory :thumbsup:

Thanks! Walk was not able to sell me one since I was not in his franchise area, so I picked up one on e bay. Where did you mount the gps antenna? I was thinking about just putting it on the dash. Where do you hook up those metal mounting brackets to? Also my car already has a built in microphone so will that work off the stock mic or do I use the one from the kit? Also, also did you upgrade the software your self or not? Thanks. D.F.

Well I got some answers form using the PM function. It looks like as you say the otocam3 is mostly plug and play all I need to do is rout the back up camera, mount the GPS antenna on the dash, and figure out where to mount the microphone. Judgeray says I should run it to the upper left corner of the window. I also need to disconnect the 12v batter prior to install and figure out how to mount those metal brackets to the radio. I will keep you all updated on the install. Thanks all!

Hello, but I am currently residing Florida for the winter. I got the otocam3 from E Bay but I don't think he has any more for sale the store name is, shadowtech98 and you can look him up on E Bay with that. I paid $850 for it and it's brand new in the box, don't know if that's a good price or not but the dealer here in FLA wanted $1300 for it installed and would not sell me one over the counter.

If you don't have the top of the line audio system, you cam mount the gps antenna under that area that you have it on top of. That area was made to accommodate an additional speaker, but if you don't have that speaker, the gps antenna will fit nicely and you should receive a strong signal.
