the dome light won't turn off during normal circumstances when the selector is in the "door" position.
situation:
1.) the door-ajar indicator in the instrument cluster is off when all doors are closed- as usual. the dome light would still be on as well as the keyhole-illumination-ring; those remain on after all doors are closed and after those ~30 seconds that they're supposed to turn off.
2.) the dome light and illumination ring remain on after doors are closed, car is started.
3.) the dome light can be switched off in all above circumstances manually by selecting "off".
4.) illumination ring is on as we speak (i'm not concerned with the draw from that puny led).
so naturally, i turned to these:

^related wiring diagram from fuses-to-grounds.
i studied the wiring diagram. i've electronically checked the fuses: "DOME" (7.5A), "ECU-B" (10A), and "ECU-IG" (10A). none of them were busted. i've tried to remedy the situation by replacing those fuses anyways and checking the other fuses that might cause the situation (i would skip the power-seat fuse for example), but the situation stayed the same.
so what's up with that? did i miss a fuse, fry that "body ecu", or managed to get a harness disconnected?
