Drain gas tank

My car has been in storage for the past 20 years. I'll need to replace the fluids and drain the gas tank.
Any idea which method works best? I don't want to remove the tank if possible.

Whoa, wonder if this works it current tank/siphon structure. On the honda, it was to access via Fuel pump removal. This question came up several times due to either storage or suction of gas. When you unscrew that, its full access to gas tank, no need to drop tank. I think there were some fuel line/fuel pump related threads in our other forums (camry/corolla) that could be useful. Keep in mind Camry XLE is 1MZFE so same as here or at least the procedure....

Besides what SDspeed said, lift up the back seat and you'll see the top of the gas tank. There is a port on top held down with a bunch of screws that opens the gas tank and when you lift out the fuel level sender you can pump out the remaining fuel. Be very careful- no smoking, no sparks, do not turn anything on, such as the radio, while you work, and collect the fuel in an inflammable container. Good luck.

Like this? Lift up the back seat and it shows the fuel pump which you might be saying is a port. First have to remove the cover with adhesive to see the screws. Still wondering if siphoning works via fuel filler on a toyota. This would be good to know...
Fuel tank access via fuel pump.

2000 Toyota avalon fuel pump replacement. Fuel pump held by 8 8mm screws.

Camry v6:

On the honda van, its on the floor (might be same for toyota van too).

Yep. Did not want someone new to assume that b/c someone did that in another forum before. So here the only way to siphon out is by going through the fuel pump or whatever other way. Most cars now prevent siphon via filler neck.

That washer and drier set is period correct for the car.

1987-1988 had folding mirrors (not power folding, sadly*) earlier versions were not painted.

*was an option in Japan

I don't think the digicluster was ever installed in cars past 1988. Pretty sure leather was only an option 1989+.

So back when these cars were new, in Canada there as no ordering the exact one you wanted. Toyota Canada would import cars with various options and you'd pick/choose one that was closest to your liking. Guess what our favourite parts site says they have available lol I have doubts

That’s still what Toyota USA does.

its annoying and ridiculous. I wanted my 2021 Camry with Ash interior and had to settle for black. Dealers can sometimes modify a vehicle they’re allocated in production if early enough. Like changing from white to blue or navigation package, etc. but they would rather not and don’t like doing it.

The domestics and European brands will let you actually build to order.
