Hi All:

Need your help. I have a 4x4 06 double cab and when I turn hard left or just do circles in a parking going left I can hear growling noise from the right front tire area. Am i looking at a hub issue or CV joint problem? When going hard right doing circles very very faint from the right front. Also noticed today that around 50 hitting slight road bumps I can feel a vibe from that right front area but I think it's just starting what ever it is. So what do guys\gals think.. Oh it's not the rotor plate already bent that out of the way. My 06 has 89000 miles on it and this is the first issue I have had.

You may be looking at a hub, especially when you say turning left makes noise on the right. One of mine went at at around 50K. If so, no big deal, they're not that hard to change.

My symptoms were a growling that got worse when I slightly turned the wheel to the right, it was the left hub. If it's not that bad, it's tougher to diagnose, I couldn't really tell for sure which one was bad. Now on my sons ZR2 GMC, there was no question which was bad. Jack up the front end and spin both front wheels. If it's bad enough, you'll know which one it is.

The dealer did my Tacoma but I have done a GMC and a Pontiac.

*Remove the brake caliper like you were doing a brake job and hang it by
a wire
*Remove the axle nut in the center, usually about a 36mm nut
*remove the 4 bolts around the hub and unplug the ABS sensor
*beat on the hub a little to allow the 1/2 shaft splines slide out of the
center of the hub
*reverse above...not a bad job. Remember to torque the axle nut, usually
around 110 foot pounds but not sure what Toyota recommends. You
never have to open the brake hydraulics to do it. Remember to plug your
ABS sensor back in.

Front End Rubbing Noise on Left Turn

Hi, I have an 07 with this exact problem and would like to know how you made out. I had a very frustrating visit to my dealer this past week. They put a tech on it that didn't look a day over 20. We drove around their parking lot and could replicate the sound on every left turn. They then took it in and after 3 hours of waiting they came out and said they were done. I asked what it was and they said they added a no slip additive to my rear differential. I adamantly disagreed with their diagnosis feeling the noise was definitely in the front right hub area. They adamantly disagreed back and said it was the differential, and OH BY THE WAY, the additive may take upwards of 1k miles to work. SOOOOO, they have me over a barrel for the next 1k miles.

Please help!! :headbang:
