Homelink question

Despite following the information on the Homelink webpage (after reading the OM), I am still unable to program Homelink on my 09 HL with an older-model Genie. I can get the Homelink light to blink fast (program mode), but after that, it never takes the signal from the remote. I put new batteries in the remote prior to trying this. Took it to the dealer, who did the same routine, but had the same results.

This Genie does not have a rolling code, and I was able to program the Homelink in my Infinity G35 coupe without any problems. Would love to hear any suggestions from veteran Forumites.

Thanks in advance.

Also you can try clearing all the settings before you add your remote fob

Hold the first and third buttons down for about 30 seconds.

the light goes from on to blinking when the settings are cleared.

It is a procedure I go through when ever I sell a car with homelink in it

Try another button, you have three, the first one would not program on mine, but the middle one did and I left it that way. Believe me I tried everything, but was always using the first button (nearest the driver). I have programed several other cars, Mini Cooper and a Ford with no problems.

When I get stuck I call Homelink @ 1-800-355-3515. When the automated greeting ends they will offer a menu. Press 4, for other inquiries, at the menu to get through to a human... If you press 1 for a owner it will take a lot longer.... They have always been very helpful to me in the past...

Thanks, TrailDust.

Actually, I tried that remedy (I which looks like it came via the Homelink web site). I searched the forum and so far only found references to rolling code issues. Since this one does not have a rolling code, it "should" be simple :sosad:. I'm still open to suggestions.

:welcome: to Toyota Nation, Valenti!

For starters give this thread a try and scroll down to reply #10 by summerwind. Hopefully that will help, but if not try searching this forum for other threads about Homelink because there have been several in the past.
