How to remove side mirror motor?

I am trying to remove and replace the motor on a USA built side mirror. A search on this forum hasn't turned up much on how to do it.

I removed the three screws on the back of the plate, but I couldn't pull it apart. I stopped because I felt I might break the mirror.

Can anyone give some instructions on how to remove the motor?

I gave it a shot and I broke the mirror.

That sucks. It's easy to do on the Japan made models, I put one into a U.S. made car because I couldn't figure out how to dismantle the U.S. unit to try and fix/replace one of the motors either.

Does Toyota sell the motor and glass separately? I would like to buy that instead of buying the whole mirror assembly.

These mirrors are extremely cheap on ebay. Painted are available also. Toyota wont have parts for the mirror, im pretty sure they just sell the whole assembly.

Yes the glass is sold separately. I replaced mine a year or so ago it was like 40$ something

Theres actually 3 different manufacturer s for the mirrors. Can u take a pic of how the glass was connected to the motor?

The mirror is attached to the black plate in the above pictures to see how that black plate is attached to the motor.
