Hey guys, I have a 2010 Corolla base and I found a cruise control stalk and wire on eBay for $30. I couldn't find instructions for a 2010 but I found some for a 2009 here http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=249931

I decided I would at least give it a shot to save the money. Everything worked exactly as shown in the pictures except that I was unable to pull the airbag ground wire from the old harness and put it in the cruise harness.(picture 3) When I pulled on it, it broke. How can I get another wire or how can I get it grounded?
Thanks for the help!

You said in an earlier post that you ordered a "cheaper" wire....I'm assuming it might have been the wrong one. Make sure it's the cruise control wire...it should clip into cruise control switch, airbag, and horn.

If you think you ordered the correct one and the wrong one was shipped...call them and have them send the correct one.

Good luck.

awesome! i cannot drive without cruise control... i purchased a 2010 base model and luckily the previous owner either had it put it when he purchased new or did it afterward. either way i'm glad to have it and to save the hassle of installing it myself

Go to your local Toyota dealer and see if they have a replacement wire pin available. Crimp the pin onto the ground lead and push into the connector. The old pin may be savable if you release the pin with a map push pin placed in the small hole in the front of the connector above the pin at a 45 degree angle to release the pin to be pulled out to the rear.

If your Corolla VIN# begins with 2T1 or 1NX, it may not have been wired to the ecm for cruise control, but this isn't a problem. You need this part (00016-01208-02 - Cruise ECM Harness).

speed control switch 84632-08021
^This is your actual stalk

wire cruise switch 84633-02020
^replaces the horn wire and combines the horn and cruise into 1 harness

SCREW, W/WASHER 90159-50199
^don't forget to buy 2 of these (mine came with them, but just in case)

COVER, STEERING WHEEL 45186-12010-B0
^Replacement cover if you don't feel like cutting a new hole (dark grey)
^Replace "BO" with "EO" for the ash brown color

cruise ecm harness 00016-01208-02
^WAS NOT NEEDED IN MY CE, but may be required for some vins
^Runs from the steering column to the ecm under the hood

Here are the instructions, very very simple install. Disregard the cruise ECM for most cars as its usually pre-wired. Most of us here just need to plug in the new stalk, put the airbag cover back on, and reconnect the battery. 15-20 minutes...

Hopefully this is helpful!
