My brother just got a '92 2WD base long bed pick-up. Has the 22RE manual steering, 5-speed no A/C. For $200!! we are going through teh truck and replacing ALL fluids. Is theer a way to change the greease or gear lube in the manual steering gear box? Want to keep it from wearing out on Kansas City streets.;)

Your pic link is of a pwr steering box.
IIRC one of the mounting screws for the top plate is a fill/check hole on the manual box, and it uses SAE 90 GL4 oil.

Thanks for the reply.

1) is there a drain or do you have to suck the old gear lube out??

2) Have a pic of the mount hole you are reffering too?

No pic handy.
On the top of the gear box is a plate with 3-4 screws. In the center is an adjusting screw with locknut. One of the screws that mounts that plate.
If it cools off some tommorow or so I might be able to dig up an old one in the shed and take a pic.
