Uhhhhh OBD2 is a standard communication interface. If you’re looking for basic vehicle stats and engine code reading, any OBD2 scanner will work fine.

I have printed out a portion of the Corolla service manual from the Toyota TIS and they often make referral to their Techstream software...I suppose it's a web based software that needs active subscription?
Actually, no. You need a subscription to keep it up to date of course, but you can download the local copy as long as you have a TIS subscription. Then, you just need an adapter that is compatible with the software.
