Has the car been sitting? How's your battery ? Its 5 years old so if never been replaced its worth a quick check

Thank you for the reply. It is driven daily. I am having the battery checked this morning because it is original. I didn’t even think about it being the battery, but I hope that’s it. I will update if this solves the problem.

 

Just a possibility… i have an ‘18 and as my battery was failing i saw some sensor warnings. Battery replaced no further issues to date. I assume cars with all of the fancy electronics are a lot more sensitive to power requirements than the old days

What did the battery read? Also, get those diagnostic trouble codes! Go to any auto parts store, most of them will grab the codes for free. Or invest in a code reader, its useful.

 

2017 RAV4: My battery went dead and afterwards I got similar pre-collision, lane departure, blind spot and AWD malfunctions on the display. A new battery didn’t help to clear the warnings. Diagnostic code C-1433 Steering angle sensor internal circuit. Any way to reset the computer? A dead battery can kill a sensor? Any suggestions appreciated.

 

Did you go to the dealer to get the C-1433 code?

 

I replaced the battery and the warnings are still there. I had it scanned this morning and the code is:
B124B- Automatic High Beam System-Current came up.

 

Update:
I went to the local Toyota dealer this morning and they told me the PCS camera and sensor are not communicating. Has anyone else had the camera behind the rear view mirror go bad? I want to explore all other possibilities before spending almost $2,000. I had my dad to check for rodent damage with the wiring and he couldn’t find anything.

 

Bro I found a used camera online for $400 and new for $700-$800 just grab one and have a shop put it in or do it yourself it's pretty straightforward to disassemble that area......

Just another example of how cars are too overcomplicated nowadays.

 

So, once you replaced the camera, did your car work? The dealership currently has my car and it’s doing the same thing yours was doing. 3 warnings in a loop.

It was not the camera after all. The factory battery leaked from the bottom and battery acid got on the main communication wires. The dealership replaced the engine wiring harness. You are also welcome to PM me if you have any questions. Happy to help!

 

Knowing that your car has been fixed is a positive thing. You should also check on the YOUCANIC website for any future repairs. You might be able to save time and money.

 

Were these the only messages that came up? My camry is saying different things at different times. Most of the time its pcs and cruise control malfunction. Occasionally its lda, headlight, and rcta. Also the lights/ warnings will flicker.

 

I have a 2019 Camry. I got a chipped windshield recently that required a new windshield. Went to Safelite they replaced the windshield with an aftermarket windshield and everything worked great for 5 months. I got a message saying Precollision System Malfunction. Went to the dealer and everything checked out as good. There is a Toyota Technical Bulletin T-SB-0005-20 dated Jan 16,2020. It says that 2018, 19, 20 Camrys need the original equipment windshield or a malfunction will occur. Now I’m dealing with the insurance company to redo the windshield with a Toyota windshield.
