Hey gang,

Was in the auto parts store today to pick up some RainEx and saw they're also selling some RainEx additive to put in your wiper fluid tank -- it claims to apply RainEx on your windshield whenever you squirt out a load of fluid.

Has anyone tried this stuff? Does it work or is it a ripoff waiting to happen?

Have never used either product, but if you're satisfied with the original rain-x, chances are the new additive will perform to your satisfaction...I'd like to think so, anyways ;)

RainX crap I have used in the past has fogged every single one of my windows up, after this I reread the directions and reapplied it; it still fogged my shit up. I hated it. I personally will never use it again. :thumbdown

Did you apply it to the inside of the glass??

I ued the original RAIN-X, where u gotta rub it on the windshield. (Exterior wise)

It works GREAT when first applied. Wears off after awhile....

I'm skeptical about the additive, since there's really "no rubbing" and the concentration of the Rain-X would bit lot less, since when sprayed on, the rain will dilute, and like I said, no "rubbing" action

I put it on the exterior both times, like the directions said. Bluntly RainX sucks.

I barely use windshield washer additives anyway. When I wash my windshield, I use a good brand cleaner, like the Stoner brand. Use a good cleaner with NEWSPAPER, and your windows will be spot free for quite a while.

I've used several products from RainX and I've been dissappointed with every one of them. The window treatment was a joke. I actually watched it wear off in the middle of a rain storm.

If you want to treat your windows, get some colonite. My step dad got me hooked on this stuff. It's a car wax but for whatever reason, it works on windows (doesn't fog them). I've been very happy with it. It goes on easy, and it will last for months, even in heavy rain.

I was happy with RainX when I used it on my '79 Rabbit (LOL dating myself!)

Windshield wipers are very annoying to me, was thinking about picking up some for the Celica

never heard of colonite, will have to check into that one. Sounds like a laxitive that works while you sleep  "colon not right? Try Colonite!"
