What object blocked forward radar? It says to clean. Was it cleaned?

 

Thank you for your reply. Yes my car is under warranty, for the adaptive cruise shutting off every-time my radar sensor is never blocked and always cleaned. However, today it was raining (not so hard) just drizzling and wipers were on and I got this message that Radar sensor blocked!

 

It is possible the pre collision camera didn’t see clear also. The safety systems are tied together so they can respond quickly. Next time, take a look at the pre collision camera housing and see if it’s fogged up. Early 12th gens had this issue.

 

Thank you I understand as this could be the reason for Radar Sensor being blocked. Could you please tell me what could be causing my adaptive cruise control shutting off every time I drive on Highway in clear dry weather with 100% visibility and radar being cleaned as well?

 

Being that it’s adaptive, the system is freaking out together. I suspect that they all need to be recalibrated.

It mentions something about braking system. So the dealer will need to really look into the system fault since it involves both the radar cruise control and the forward facing camera.

From what I’ve seen on the inter webs, there’s 2 different versions. How does rain cause a system block versus a clear day?

In the op’s case, fogging of the forward camera could have disabled it. Radar sensor blocked in post 3. Since the systems are part of safety sense, it’s logical the system is behaving badly. Not just repeated button pushing.
