Camrys are known to last for a good time. What is the highest number of miles you've seen - or heard about - on a camry?

The most i've seen is 237,000 miles on my friends car, he's still using it......
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
BMR's edit to compile the high milers list:

OK, I skimmed thru this entire thread. It became apparent that you've gotta have 300k+ miles to make the list, so that's what I did.

I omitted some where it wasn't clear if they posted miles or kilometers.
Gen 3 or 4 Camrys & Solaras only, no Lexus.
Gotta be your Camry, not your uncle's, grandpa's, or one you saw in your shop.

If I missed anyone, or made any mistakes, just let me know and I'll make corrections. I'll update this as needed.

When I was working for a Toyota Dealership in the mid 90's we had a regualr customer witha Gen 1 taht had over 330k miles on it. IT looked brand new. HE took extremely goodcare of the car and always had normal maintenance done at or before schedule. That is one of the only high mileage cars that we would work on a regualr basis because he was a regualr customer.

We had some one trade one it at the dealership I was selling at recenlty and it had 273k miles on it or so.

My old '90 had 267k miles on it when I crashed it. My current '90 has over 320k miles on it.... still going just fine with the turbo (soon to be a new motor though...)

damn!!!!

330k? pretty impressive. why would a dealership take in a camry with 273k miles on it?

Face it... the 5S will one day be the metric of reliability, for non-diesel motors. These motors, when taken care of, will last forever.

Because someone will buy it. If it had had proper oil changes and timing belts, there's still a few 100k miles left in it.

well let's calculate it. if a toyota had 1,000,000 miles on it: w/ it being 16 yrs old

every year: put 62,500 every year
roughly every month: put 5300 miles
every day: 171 miles

PERSONALLY, I WOULD DIE DRIVING THAT MUCH! :whatwhat:
There was a story floating around about someone doing greyhound rescue deliveries from S-FL, using an F-series, averaging 1k miles/day, broke 1mil in like 3-4 yrs? That's when they found out the odo would stop at 999999.9, and wouldn't flip over.

just broke 304k miles... might break 306k this month, if not, real close.

To quote the Guinness Book of World Records 2005 edition:

"Highest Car Mileage--A 1966 Volvo P-1800S owned by Irvin Gordon (USA) has covered IN EXCESS of 2,219,751 miles (3,572,342 KM) by March 2004. The car is still be driven on a daily basis and covers more than 100,000 miles (160,000 KM) per year, thanks in part to being driven to numerous events in Europe and USA."

That would be overkill for me. :deadhorse  :whatwhat:

Not totally out of the question. My brother in law is in sales and for a while had to drive his own car and was reimbursed for it. On average he was putting about 4000 miles a month on his car. If you are in sales and get the money a lot of people would just as soon drive their own car to make the mileage money.

yea my dad can drive 1500 miles a week easy when he's working outside sales. He drives a company van though, which has 250k miles on it, only had 100k when he got it 3 years ago.

One customer i had , was a traveling preacher or something, and she has been all around america. Her Gen 3 Camry had 450,000 miles on it

My Current Cars:

2003 Toyota Camry, 1 year ago had 6,400 miles on it when i got it, and now has 29,000! All thanks to my damn pizza delivery job i had. 1200 a week.

1990 Toyota Camry, 78,000 miles and in mint condition, i almost never drive it. It was my first car.

I hate using my car for jobs. I had a messenger job where I had to use my own car. I quit that shit since also they didn't give me any kind of allowanc for my car or anything. Just my normal pay and the pay wasn't even that much. So I said eff that it isn't worth it to put my car through that.
