Update Feb 3, 2021
The 13+ year old divshare link is dead. As dead as my 2005 Tacoma.
I have removed the link. I do not have the PDF files.

Links not working?

How does the dealer treat the TSBs? I just got my tacoma Monday and it's my first toyota.

Also, is the date you included the dates of trucks affected or the date the TSB was issued?

thanks!

If im correct the TSB's around covered through the extended warranty? Meaning I bought the truck used and bought the extended warranty with it, does that mean I am not eligible for the TSB's? Thanks.

#4 ·
As I read it YES...

They might do a goodwill service depending on the issue and person.

The link works fine for me.
The dates shown are the date the TSB was put out.
The TSBs are not covered under my extended warranty in Canada.

Take this for what its worth. I'm outside the TSB warranty period, my Extra Care is denying the claim at this time. Working on options.

I'm hoping someone can comment on this for me. I recently have been moving more stuff in the bed of my truck, and I've noticed that the ride seems overly harsh when loaded. Doing the research here, I've found the TSB for rear spring replacement, but I have a couple questions. My truck is an '06 with 33k KM's on it, and is still under warranty. Should I qualify for the TSB? Being in Canada, does the TSB apply to me? How do I go about starting a claim with this TSB? Thanks for the answers.

You can always "qualify" for any TSB work. A TSB isn't a recall, but rather simple documentation of a common problem and a known solution. If your vehicle is displaying the problem described in the TSB, then it should apply. Work done in reference to a TSB is only free if the affected parts are still under warranty of some kind (bumper-to-bumper, powertrain, emissions, or possibly an extended warranty). Just take your vehicle to a dealer to have them look at the probelm.

Thanks for that info. I always thought it was normal the way it rode with a load in the bed. But a couple nights ago, I was coming home from Ikea with a friend, helping him get a sofa and a couple shelving units. Along the freeway there is a bit of a rough patch and it was doing the usual rough riding, thudding kind of thing. My friend asked me if that was normal, because it didn't sound right. I really never gave it much thought, but upon some research, I think that this TSB might do the trick.

If this is a complete list (and I didn't look elsewhere to verify), then is it just me or does this list seem short compared TSBs for some other vehicles out there. I know I had a 2003 G35 for a few years, and it seemed like that list for the 2003-2006 models was a long longer!

T-sb-0305-08 Rev2

http://www.scribd.com/doc/24843432/T-SB-0305-08-PDF-Revised

To keep other forum members from making the same mistake I almost did... They revised the Rough Ride TSB in January (includes 2010).

For non TRD, this means no 5100s anymore.

:headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I almost had harsh words with the dealer until a few neurons kicked in and I went to look up the part numbers on the work order, leading me to the above. Shouldn't have waited.

Enjoy.

ETA: Oh... 1st post =) Been lurking for a while... *grin*

I just had my TSB done, and they used the revised version TSB as you mention. Are the 5100 front shocks any better than what they use now? What's the difference?

I notice the revised TSB included bump stops, which the original didn't have, so that's a plus I guess.

SO, I can't get the rear spring mod on my Taco if it has ove 36K on it? What if I have never carried a heavy enough load to cause the issue until after that mileage? I thought TSB's didn't have an expiration date?

#24 ·
They generally will not do a TSB after the factory warranty expires. If you get it in the system and document that you requested the work before the warranty expires at 36,000, then if they don't get to it until after the warranty expires, you would still be covered. On my '05 I went in for the leaf spring TSB at 35, 800 miles. I got in under the wire. They had to backorder the springs, and it wasn't until about 36, 500 that they got to install them. No problem there, lucky maybe.

2010 Tacoma TSB 0393-0 Enhancement to Shift

Hey all,

Just wanted to post a little something about my experience with my 2010 Tacoma 4X4 TRD Offroad.
I have had this vehicle for about a year and really love it. Got a lift kit with some 285's with full grill guard, truck looks great!!!! Every since I owned it I have had rough shifting at speeds below 20 MPH and lunging when actually stopped. After multiple time to the toyota service dept they said that this vehicle just runs like that. Well, I pretty much had enough so I called the Corp Service and explained my issue and they immediatley issued me a case number and refered me the the liasson at the local Toyata dealer. Long story short I showed up at the dealer the next day and they treated me like a movie star. They researched any T-SB's for my vehicle and they found T-SB-0393-09 ( ECM Calibration-Enhgancement to Shifting Performance and Smoothness). Basically, it states:

To enhance shifting performance and smoothness below 20 MPH during 2-1 downshift on vehicles equipped with an A750 transimission. The engine Contro Module calibration has been revised.

After they put the computer on my vehicle it showed that it already had this TSB installed on my truck. I told them that I wanted the TSB to be reinstalled and a Flash done to my onboard computer. They did it and the truck runs better than ever and the bad shifting had totally been rectified.

Hope this helps
