I was wondering what that hole in the front of the box was for. If I had a Sport, I would so have this.

Well Im not sure if this will work with the sport hood scoop or just fits in front of the grill. Pricing wise I couldnt find anything yet. Maybe somebody else can.

the scoop comes to far forward to be used with the scoop in the hood. that scoop goes behind the grill im guessing....

 

That's what I was thinking, but you can never really tell details by a picture on a website. You'd really have to get in touch with Volant or find someone with it installed to be sure.

That is the first decent looking CAI I have seen for the trucks. Looks to be a grill scoop but I would bet it wouldn't take much to redirect to the sport hood scoop.

 

The sport scoop is fake, and sealed isn't it? I'm sure it has nothing to do with the scoop. They probably wouldnt design a CAI that only works for limited number of Tacomas

Is it just me, or is it so obvious that this intake is designed to take cooler air from in front of the radiator? There is no way that will even come close to fitting up to the FAKE scoop in the hood.

 

I'm sure there is a way you could redirect the intake scoop to receive air from the hood scoop...the only thing is that you would need to cut a hole in the hood and modify the scoop on the hood a little. Probably not worth all the extra work though since you would get more forced air through the grille than the top of the hood.

it would be a million times more effective behind the grill then behind a scoop that does not take in air...


i remember one tacoma owner i talked a long time ago even put holes in his scoop and it never made a whistleing sound... imo the air rides right over that scoop.

i just got mine haven't installed it yet. i'll be sure and post pics when its finished. The price was 100 bucks and some change but thats cause i got it at cost. The scoop mounts on the core support of the radiator and takes air in from the grille
