Hey guys,

Tundra shopping right now. The dealers in my area are only going as low as $400 over invoice (inv=31340 or so). Is this a decent deal?

It's an SR5 DC 5.7L.

Any input would be appreciated.

I cant find the TRUE invoice anywhere. Every place (edmunds, consumer reports, etc) gives me a different number. Regardless, no dealer is really willing to play ball. One will offer it to me at "invoice" but they have a reputation for being aggressive dealmakers.

The invoice number I'm talking about is the one right off the Toyota print out that any salesman can give out.

As a guy who sells these trucks, and believe me when I say they are a GREAT truck, anyone getting $400 over invoice is a deal I would tell my best friend or family to make, and yes they can and should be able to show you their invoice; it is a mark of integrity which should also be something you feel you are getting from your dealer. My interests are with the up coming plans to build a 1 ton diesel platform. Also commercial grade cab and chassis. Does anyone have any news on that?

Tundra Deal

Anyone looking to purchase a new Tundra might want to check out jimbarkleytoyota.com. The prices posted on their website are what you pay plus tax & tag. There are no other tacked on fees at all. If you are willing to drive to get your Tundra, you might save some serious dough by checking with jimbarkleytoyota first. I bought from them about 10 days ago and saved several thousand. I had to drive 325 miles to get it though. Crewmax limited 2wd
MSRP $40,854.00 Paid $33,513.00

drove 4.7 & 5.7

Drove both today. I have driven the 4.7 once before and it seemed adequate. However, it seemed slow. In fact it seemed a lot slower than my 2000 tundra. According to data, its not supposed to be. Maybe its the large feel of the truck and 18" wheels.

Then drove the 5.7 and it really is no comparison. I just have to decide to cough up the $900 extra ponys.
