what do you do with the rectangular hole behind the center armrest of Gen 6 Camry LE?
mine is the al-cheapo version, so it doesn't have rear A/C vents.

I have never found a use for that empty space, but I was wondering
what others do with it...

thanks! :)

At first I was going to fiber glass a tv in there, but my daughter would just kick it so I went to the dealer and bought the xle factory armrest and got the vents to make it work like it was factory. It sucks that they totally didn't think about putting anything there in the beginning.

Well, you could do the XLE swap and buy the vents from the XLE too, I'm sure its just tubing that connects to the other vents on the dash.

It's just sitting there right now, maybe for those that run air suspension, they can put their switches there.

The vents in the console work, why the hell would I buy the xle center console and not get the venting tubes that would make it functional. The other difference between my vents and if you got a xle is that mine works when the vents on the dash are on. If you put the air to the feet or to defrost they will not work. And in the xle you can make the rear vents blow air at a different speed, but mine are all the same. I will have to get my receipts together to give you a total.

yes, please post all the parts needed to make this conversion. :)

THANKS in advance! :)

Several months ago, I read about a rear air vent - air purifier - conversion
on a Japanese Camry owner website.... but it was nearly USD$800....
It was a real nice set-up. The purifier was hidden in the armrest(no longer
available for storage) and controlled by a dash switch.
