Hi folks, new user here just registered to ask a Q. I am wanting to put on a universal (performance) muffler on my 07 SE camry (2.4L gas). I've been looking at options, and I have to specify if I want a 2.0, 2.25, or 2.5" inlet/outlet diameter. I think my car has a 2, or maybe a 2.25 diameter but does anyone know for sure?
I can't find my caliper ruler, so I just climbed underneath the car and tied a string around it, then using my old jr. high math, found the diameter user the old divide by pi formula. I ended up with just over 2" but my string measurement was not exactly perfect.
So... what size should I order? I am assuming I want the same size as the stock pipe, but do people usually order larger, so they can overlap a bit, or do you typically weld them exactly butt-to-butt so to speak?
Thanks for the info!
If anyone has suggestions on products, let me know too. I'm not spending too much. Just want to be able to hear the car (I'm used to my "other" car I use in the summer, and old '80 corvette!). Looking at probably a magnaflow just because they seem affordable.
