The key to my 2007 Camry was stolen from my office and used to acces my car. My car was not stolen but some things in my car were taken. What should I do?

Did they get a remote too?

If so, you can reprogram your other remote(s) and the stolen one will not work.

I would call a locksmith and see if they can change the lock cylinder tumblers so that the lost key will not work. If the locksmith can't do it you will have to get all of the lock cylinders replaced.

File a report of some sort at work, file a police report just in case the person is caught, change the cylinders and have the keys reprogrammed like someone said earlier. You might as well get that done asap because they may take things from your car now, but what if they decide to steal the car...they now have the key.

If your job has security cameras in the parking lot, check to see if they can review the tape to see if someone is caught on camera. Good Luck!

That is a good idea. I would find out if your parking lot has security cameras, and then file a police report. Notify the responding officer if security video is available or not.

WTH?? Ok, do you have the emergency keys still? Take the car to the dealer, ask them to reprogram a new key for you. Then, file a police report. Sue them. TAKE ALL THEY GOT AND WILL EVER HAVE! J/K
And don't be too surprised when it will probably be the last person you would expect to steal from you. It is amazing how people can be sometimes.

don't drive that car to work until the situation is resolved.
Exactly. Swap cars with a friend or family member if you have to. No sense in driving the Camry to work if the thief can easily go back and steal more stuff from your or the whole car. File a claim under your comprehensive policy (I assume you have it, since the car is fairly new) and have the locks changed.

Another shady place is the GO Station parking lots here. My buddy has gotten his windows smashed and car ruined for his decks and subs and amps several times. Some people are just F*****s. and parking lots should have security cameras.
On my co-op term coming up i'm gonna be scared leaving my car in the parking lot there, those are the times when you wish you had a beater no one would touch lol.
GO peeves me off that we pay them so much yet they have nooo security at all for parking.

Lucky that they didn't ruin your car though.
