I'm working on doing the fog light mod and I was able to find the fuse box under the steering wheel but, where is box with the relays? Does anyone know where exactly it is under the steering wheel? Anyone have any pics of where it is?

it would help if you posted what year and model car you have... that being said, the relays are on the back of the fuse box under the steering wheel (at least for the 05 camry)
Oops. Sorry. It's a 2009 Camry. I know it's right behind the cover under the steering wheel but, not sure how that cover is supposed to be removed since it's also attached to the hood latch.

Fuse box are generally contains:

-BCM
-Fuses
-Connectors
-Relays
-Flasher

I suggest give it another try. I know it's there.

All the toyota and lexus I have installed alarm/RS on have two fuse box, in the cabin and in the engine bay. The engine bay fuse box is for other heavy duty parts.

SPST or SPDT relay these days are 1/3-1/2 the size of original Bosch-type relays.

i think there's a little miscommunication here!

The fuse box and relay box are one and the same. The difference is in the ease of access... because the fuses are on the front, there is easy access through the pop out panel. the relays are on the back of that same box and much more difficult to get to.

Chettaman, you are correct in that you will likely need to remove the dash panel to access the relays; no owner's manual will have these instructions because it's not intended for the owner to easily access the interior relays.

However, if you can find the service manual, it should have instructions on how to remove the panel. The hood latch cable can be removed from the hood latch, that is how it is done on the 05 camry to remove that dash panel. search around on the forum, there may be pictures or a diy of how to remove that panel.

Thanks LE05. I will try to get a service manual in case there isn't a DIY on here of the panel removal. A member posted a pic of where the relays are in another thread but, I tried contacting him a few days ago but no reply. Oh well. Here's a copy of that pic.

FYI for future reference. 1 10mm bolt and 1 phillips screw to take off the panel under the steering wheel.

Pull on the kick panel to the left of the dead pedal. It will expose the 10 mm bolt holding the plastic panel which needs to be removed. Philips screw is on the right of the panel. The rest are pull tabs which pull out with ease.

I was able to change my fog light relay without removing the metal cover like the picture above says you can do if you want easier access.

Are you trying to do the fog light mod I did?

If you are sorry I didnt explain how to remove it

I can try to explain what i remember
Basically you need to remove the panel below the steering wheel. First take off the 4 phillips screw at the bottom of the panel - All the way down
Then at the lower left there is a kick panel and if you look in the back I believe its a 15mm plastic nut. Remove it and it should slide out . Then there is the plastic foot cover that says camry. Tug on it and pry it up. It may feel like its going to break but its not. But don't be too rough theres always a chance of breaking something and you can bend it and it will never sit flush again. After that i really cant remember. Might just have to wiggle the big panel downwards. If it doesnt come off look around for another screw. Ill try to check monday

If it does come off, be careful there is the connection for the hood latch. It just pops out with a little play but if you don't have to remove it, don't. To get the relay off it a bit of work. Its really in there and you need to wiggle it out.
