Hello,

Well i've been checking out the outcome on the scion TC and its pretty amazing that 2azfe it's putting out around 250-300whp with just a bolt on kit...what do u guys think? im about to star putting it together! i'm going to use a t3/t4 garrett turbocharger boosting around 7-8 PSI it should cost +/- 2k should be fun!....

Some rather interesting and ignorant comments.

Nevertheless, I'm really anxious to see the outcome. The Tc crowd have been doing turbo for a while so there a lot of groundwork done already that can be drawn upon.

You'll need an LSD for sure.

Keep us posted.

Do it dude
maybe you could get the XRS to 200wph
with the torque these engines have its will definately make it a nice sportier car
also love the sound of a blow of valve =D pssssstsss

I have been working the "we really need a turbo" line on the wife since May, she is getting tired of saying no, soon boys....real soon:thumbsup: well I suppose if one was available it would help the cause too...

oo man! i want these mods.. but i have too much to pay for!! BLAH!

dude you should really do it. The XRS isn't an "economy car" its more of a sporty small car. Like the XRS has the same engine as the TC and the Tc has so many super chargers and turbo's for it so don't listen to that guy, its not a waste of money. You could be surprised on how much you can get out of any 'sporty small car'. lol.

ooo do you think itll come out for the 1.8L? please say yes! haha

ooo what kind of turbo?

any updates??
I'm thinking of upgrading my09 xrs. What all do I need to replace to do the turbo. Exhaust, injectors, programming, intake, what about motor mounts and transmounts. Can the drive train handle the stress? Do I need to run Premium gas? There are a lot of questions involved with this kind of upgrade.

for the 1.8L engine at this time there is none even from TRD. maybe years after some "good soul" manufacturer might come out with one. but that is no assurance that there will be one in the near future.

i think ill just supercharge.. but wait isent the scion tc and xrs have the same motor? wut about the layout is it the same?

i dont think so???

meanin can i go buy a tc intake and bolt it on mine without any problems???

There are some differences. I'm told the head is different on our XRS and is shared with the Newer XB and TC. There are now two SC kits available from TRD, however the layout is slightly different. What's visibly different is the battery orientation, and the fact that our ECU is right where the short RAM would sit. This isn't a deal breaker. Obviously one would have to do some modifications to piping. Additionally, the biggest question will be if the current ECU flash will work on the XRS.
.
As far as turbo is concerned, again, piping will have to be modified for any kits out there right now. TurboKits.com has them for the newer Tc
