Is it possible to have the navigation system that would go in an XRS model installed into a Type S model Corolla? If so, any ideas on what such a project would cost?

Yes, go by your dealer for a price quote on the navigation bezel and then hit up eBay for the proper GPS unit. I'm planning on doing the same thing eventually, so if you get it done, be sure to post back. =P

:welcome: to TN, btw. :D

Nah, the bezel I'm going to guess will be less than $100, and the most expensive I've seen the GPS itself online is about $700. Install it all yourself (Should be Plug & Play for everything,) and you're good to go for well under 1k.

The Corolla's are just S, no Type-S!

You can get the Navi package. This package is available to the S, XLE, and XRS models. So I'm sure you can just install like plug and play. But I've heard you can find a better H/U with a Navi and more features!

I believe Schorsh (Sp?) has a double-din dash kit available for the Corolla's

Dash kit: http://www.scosche.com/vehicle.sear.../?applicationGuideID=15044 &make=TOYOTA&year=2010&model=COROLLA+Dark+Gray+Dash

I used one of these to fab a 7" touch screen into my dash. I don't know if it is the same thing for the navi unit, but that is a double din kit. Oh, and its Scosche. No r. :)I have a pc installed in my car for nav/phone/music etc

Taking apart everything to remove the radio is dead simple, as mentioned the factory nav can probably be simply plugged in. I'd totally get one of the pioneer avic units before a factory setup tho.

I don't think so because the Corolla NAV unit does not have JBL speakers at all. Another thing is that with NAV Corollas, Bluetooth is not available (no buttons on the right wheel). That was one reason why I ordered my car with the JBL instead of the NAV.
