Are there any grease jerks or is everything maintenance free as far as lubrication?

I haven't seen Zirc fitting on a car for years.
I was going to give away my lube gun, but I still need it for my show-blower and one of my lawnmowers. Last vehicle that had a zerk was my 05 4runner. It had a couple on the drive-shaft. There were none for ball joints or any other place.

My 1990 Pathfinder suspension was also a sealed system. However there were these little 4mm bolts that you could remove and replace with zerks. That's what I did. My 98 Pathfinder didn't have that option and I was kinda disappointed. But never had a ball-joint or control-arm issue for it's extremely long (ove 450k miles) life.

My personal opinion (2017 XLE AWD) is there is a general 'looseness' built into Toyotas these days compared to the long ago, good old days. A few months of shake and bake on our roads and you have all manner of noises show up. Our first Toyota was a 1972 Corona MK-2, the OHC Six. At 170,000 miles it was still quieter than this 2017.

Right, I still use it on my lawn tractor and snow blower. If you are like me, your grease gun is hanging up in the garage with a trash bag wrapped around it to catch the grease drippings.

Last time I replaced endlinks on my old Acura I bought performance ones with zircs.

20 years ago I'd say I prefer zerks. The problem with them is that people forget to grease them and then that part fails. Should be done every oil change. But if you're like me...do your oil changes and other work...I never forgot to grease them. I was extremely skeptical of the sealed units. But after hundreds of thousands of miles on multiple vehicles without them, then I'm not sure I want them or need them. A performance vehicle - might be a different animal though.
