Hi Everyone!

I am having an issue with the corner of the front bumper on my new Corolla popping out. I have pushed it back into place a couple of times now, but it seems to keep coming loose. When I pop it back into place, I push it upwards by pushing it from underneath the bumper sort of near the wheel/tire. When doing this I do hear an audible click as if it is clipping back into place, but usually after a bit of regular driving it will pop back out again. I am assuming there is another clip that is not clicking back into place and that I am going to have to loosen the bumper a bit to re-connect it.

I believe this probably happened when I scraped the front lip for the first time when going into a steep shopping center drive way, which made me nearly cringe to death.😖 After parking, I immediately hopped out of the car to inspect for any damage. There was nothing major, and I did not notice this portion of the bumper popping out at the time(if it was even popped out).

Every other thread I have found in regards to fixing this portion of the bumper are all pertaining to previous generations of Corollas, and when I punch in the VIN into the Toyota parts website it does not recognize it as a valid VIN 🙃

Any help here is greatly appreciated, this lil corner popping it out is driving me nuts. This is the first brand new car I have ever owned and I am really trying to baby the crap out of it.

Had this happen on my first Corolla hatchback wouldn’t stay in place ended up just putting some clear rtv and that fixed it. Don’t have that hatch anymore though have another one.

As far as I know there are little plastic tabs that hold the bumper in that spot as they "click" In ... same issue on my Civic back bumper ...7 years lived with it never got worse just ocd me it bothers...try warranty like other member said or take the bumper off repair the clips and put back together..... it was probably caused by very mild impact like u said scraping mine was a parking cone "touch"

Had the same thing happen to me, hit my lip on that same corner except mine cracked. I tapped it all back into place and ordered a new front lip along with a bronze ring. It is a 1 piece assembly.
Front Lip - PT9380221202 a whopping $400 USD
Sheesh

I'm hoping that I wont have to be doing the same. I cannot begin to express how much this is annoying me, everytime I get out of the car after driving, I walk around to check if it has popped out yet again. Really need to get in there to see whats going on. Just havent had time to do it yet this week.

Well, I confirmed when I scraped going into that parking lot driveway that I tore the tab on the bumper that clips in right under the side of the headlight... so I either have to replace the bumper and paint it or just throw some adhesive in there and call it a day.

Not sure if this is something I can get away with getting replaced through warranty..😏

They will likely tell scraping caused the issue, I lived with this same issue on my Civic for 8 years but on rear bumper.

I did the same on my car in a parking lot as well but Mines right under headlight... it'll pop back in but come out on its own just like my Civic did.

I will just try go repair the clip or use some adhesive or tape to hold it, not buying a new bumper and I doubt they'll warranty my driving.

Man, thats disappointing to hear and see. Did not think the front end would be so fragile. This is literally going to be impossible to avoid as there will always be some drive way out there that is going to be too steep, which requires an extreme approach angle, which will not be possible to achieve due to traffic. Guess I'm going to be purchasing a couple tubes of that adhesive you linked.

Checking under the front lip to confirm, this type of thing happens from some Sort of impact. The tiny plastic rectangle hook/tabs that clip into the mounts all over the bumper are paper thin. This is not my first car this has happened on and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Sadly, cars/vehicle with low ground clearances (& very low profile tires) just aren't practical (or comfortable) out in the real world (especially considering the awful state of our roads/infrastructure today). Another reason I am finally joining the "compact crossover" owning demographic later this year or early next. Sucks that Toyota doesn't sell the Yaris Cross in the USA though (or even the TNGA Yaris hatch). We are stuck with the inferior C-HR and soon the clunky-looking mini-RAV4 Corolla Cross.

My Apex just started doing this a couple of weeks ago in the same place on the same side. I haven't hit anything and car is only a couple of months old. Mine is a late model 2021 manufactured in May '21. Maybe time to use warranty just to hear the excuses that I caused it...

In my opinion it’s a straight up defective design from many car manufacturers of compact cars. I see it everywhere on several different Makes. Should be a recall but many millions of cars would flood the dealers. Unfortunately epoxy or something similar will probably be the only alternative. After application wait 24 hours in a dry place to drive again. Not a recommendation. But a cheap possibility.
