Check your owners manual or display settings and see if there are lock options. Of there are none, you'd have to go to Toyota and see if they are willing to change the door lock settings.

 

My 2019 RAV4 functions the same way. You have a few options. Opening the passenger side front door, unlocks all 4 doors. If you have the touch to open option, keep you had in the door handle for a few seconds. It unlocks the drivers side first, then after 2-3 seconds it unlocks the rear doors.

 

This is what I have found also in my 2021. Just keep your hand in the driver's handle longer until you hear the clunk of the passengers rear door unlocking.

 

Is there any way of getting the rear passenger doors to unlock without waiting for about 5 seconds? I have to hold my hand on the handle for 5 seconds just to put groceries on the back seat!

 

Click unlock twice on remote fob and all doors including rear hatch unlock immediately

 

You can change your setting on the infotainment. I changed mine to always unlock all doors.

Thanks so much! I still haven’t read about how the infotainment settings all work (it’s quite the learning curve with a new car!) but I will be very happy if I can change that setting!
