Best way to explain HP to someone...

...that it's not easy as:
160hp car + 10hp exhaust + 8hp intake = 178hp

Why are some people such boneheads?

well it is. if an exhaust adds 10 hp and an intake adds 10 thats 20 additional hp.

It is quite simple.

Correct me if i'm worng, but i think your question has to deal with how to tune rather than what is HP. You wnat to know whats involved in making, for arguments sake, 30% more power, right?

Are you even reading my posts?

And no, it is not that simple.
I think you're talking about fluctuations in gains from certain mods right? Like how a certain muffler may give 4HP to the wheels for one person but 1, 2, or 6HP to someone else right? There are tons of reasons this could happen because no one has identical cars, unless of course they are right off the dealers lot in which case they STILL may not be 100% the same. One persons air filter may be dirtier than the others, dirty spark plugs, dirty engine oil, atmospheric changes during the dyno, etc etc, you can go on forever. Is this what you what you were trying to say, that HP from mods cannot be predicted?

latez.

That's somewhat what I'm talking about. But even simpler than that. What I should've done was post where this is all coming from.

From another board, this guy has a Matrix XRS and I'm trying to tell him that just cuz he stuck this and that part to his car doesn't mean he's producing the numbers he "estimates".

OK, so far I am very satisfied with the performance....

All I got so far is TRD Exhaust, K&N drop in filter and a couple of Spiral Maxes.. I would estimate this car at 210-215 HP and 150-155 Torque.

I have taken the new Acura 3.2 TL Type-S from a rolling start.
I taken the newer MonteCarlo SS
Hondas are slow, I have had a problem with a couple of moded SI but still got them.
I have taken a GST with intake and exhaust on the highway.
I took an Integra GSR straight headers.

Those all I remember for now... I will let you guys know of more people I kill tonight

For the people that were wondering about my NOS.. I am installing it with a buddy of mine on Monday.

This is what you've been trying to answer?????????

Okay tell me this...when you swim, do you sink or float???? Cuz gauging on how dense you are, you should be at the bottom of the f*cking lake by now!

The only reason this thread went on this long is because of your complete idocy. You deserve a punch in the face for that!

Next time, explain yourself better so the rest of us aren't trying to be like Kreskin and read your undeveloped mind.

and BTW...Ratko is talking about what you are asking.

WTF?
I thought I made myself very clear from the original post. You're the one that made it more difficult than it actually was.

Whatever, internet tough guy.
