On the 2016 Special Edition, does anyone know how hard it is to remove the blue piece above the glove box. I've got a scratch and I'd like to replace this piece if it isn't too hard.

it's held in with push clips, should pull straight out (towards the rear)

i would check with a dealer parts department first, those special editions are rare and it may take some time for that piece to come in. give them your VIN # and explain you have the SE "special edition"..... it may be expensive too. SE silver trim lists for $110 and LE/XLE wood lists for $147

Surprisingly, it's the same cost as the silver trim. It did take some time coming in.

Use a removal tool. You should have the kit if you're doing more.
Else see if a body shop will do the pull for you. And some times they can get the part for you cheaper.
Those things pieces bend coming off more often than not.

My trim removal tools have really come in handy. I'm glad I did this one myself. It wasn't too bad. The radio did have to be loose but not completely removed. Everything came apart and went back together pretty well. I did have one piece of plastic break and surprisingly come back out at me as I put the cup holder piece back in. I'm assuming it wasn't too important, everything seemed to snap into place anyway.

How hard was it taking the trim piece out? I want to wrap it in CF vinyl in the near future along with the rest of my interior trim pieces.

Over all the process wasn't hard. The piece it self was very easy. I started pulling on the radio side and worked it out going towards the door. It's only made difficult because the radio trim is in the way, but moving the radio isn't too bad. Removing the top piece of the dash was the most concerning to me but it came off without leaving any marks. Watch a video on radio removal and make sure you have plastic trim tools.
