Probably the connections on the ESP monitor wiring need to be cleaned.
Pay special attention to the connections to ground inside the ESP unit (if a signal can't go back to the battery through the ground wire then it will often find its way back through the other warning bulbs and then through the sensors).

battery, charge, and brake lights all lit up together means it IDed a fault with the alternator that wouldn't light up just the battery light. confusing and backwards but it is what it is.

 

So it's telling me my alternator isn't working properly?

 

Your voltage regulator [inside the alt].
Dunno if it's available separately from Toyota, if it is I would order that and replace it. You might as well do the brushes while you're at it. IMO you're better off with Toyota [or Denso] than most replacement shops crap.

 

Huh, I must say I'm surprised that it would be worn out already. Obviously it's an old car and it is a wear part, but after only 80,000kms?

So, I did a bit of reading and my 4M engine has a mechanical voltage regulator. Also, after so poking around there is a little black wire coming out of the back of the alternator which isn't plugged in anywhere and I can't see where it would need to go. And thoughts?
