high rev in 5th gear

Hey. I have a 2009 Toyota Corolla XLI. 1.6L engine. (The car is not from the west) 4 cylinder. Manual 5 speed transmission. i recently bought the car about 3 months ago and since i bought it i have encountered this issue.

The problem with my car is that when I drive at about 100-110km/h in fifth gear the rpm reaches 3200 or higher. Rpm never fluctuates. Idle speed in neutral while I am parked is normally 700-800. It's just that the rpm seems really high for driving at those speeds. Many other cars I have driven rpm at those speeds are normally 2300.
Also, when the engine is cold and I start the car, it sounds like I am over starting it although I am not holding the key in the start position for a long period of time. (Don't know if the 2 problems are related)
Do you know what the problem on my car is? or if there is no problem at all.

Thank you very much.

3200 RPM for a 5 speed Toyota sounds about right. My 2000 MR2 Spyder revved at 3500 RPM 113 km/h but it had a shorter 5th gear than most Corollas. Automatics rev much lower at those speeds, but manual master race!

Do you mean that your starter sounds like it's still engaged after you let go of the key? Post a video of the sound if you can.

no. its not when i let go of the key. it sounds like it is still engaged while i am still holding the key. but if i release the key before then the engine doesnt start because i didnt hold it long enough to get a start. but this problem only occurs when the engine is very cold, like the car has been sitting over night.
i hope it makes sense what i have said and you can understand easily, i will take a video when i get the chance.
thank you for your help.
